Mosquito Control on Lake Shannon
Advanced Pest Management has already begun this year’s mosquito control with the treatment of some standing water in our neighborhoods. Weekly spraying will occur on Wednesday evenings and will begin in mid-late May. Please be aware that the driver generally starts around 9-9:30 pm near Faussett and Linden, proceeding in a counter- clockwise direction around the lake. The volume of spray is controlled based on the speed of the truck to ensure even application of the insecticide. You may observe the truck driving but not spraying, in order to prevent double- or over-spraying certain areas.
APM has been providing the Lake Shannon Community with mosquito control for over a decade. APM provides more than the weekly spraying. In the spring APM inspects likely sites for mosquito breeding grounds by driving and walking around our entire neighborhood. Data from the site inspection is used to develop a unique mosquito control plan for Lake Shannon. The site inspection is repeated several times over the season based on weather conditions and is used to update our mosquito control plan.
APM provides notification service to residents. If you desire notification that spraying will occur, call (810) 735-8731 and provide your name, address and phone number. APM will call the morning of each spraying.
In addition, APM will shut off service around your home if you desire. Please call APM at (810) 735-8731.
